NC-v4 WEp1:Outdoor water use reduction

Renovation of existing building with no major site work planned

Our project is a complete interior renovation of an existing facility on a college campus. The project building has an established site that is turf grass, trees, and shrubs but no work is planned on the site, our LPB is essentially the building perimeter as all the work is being done inside. The only work planned on the site is to return anything disturbed back to the way it was.

Does this make the WEp1 prerequisite not applicable to our project?

As far as I know, it still applies to whatever vegetation is within your project boundary, which would include site disturbance areas. If there's no permanent irrigation there, then you're good.

Could someone respond with recent experience on how to handle these? Our projects are registered under LEED BD+C v4: Major Renovations. The scope includes full interior and building systems renovation, but no landscape work. However, existing gardens remain within the LEED Project Boundary (LPB).We tested the Outdoor Water Use Reduction Calculator with the existing conditions, but the projects do not reach the required 30% reduction. Since the landscape cannot be altered under the current scope, we would like guidance on the following:1.    Could these projects be documented similarly to Zero Lot Line (ZLL), given that no landscape work is included in scope?2.    If not, are there acceptable compliance approaches when the project cannot modify the existing landscape?
