Our project is located in Philadelphia, PA and the project is therefore eligible for a Regional Priority point for SSc5.1 - Protect or Restore Habitat. However, the project is planning to pursue SSpc83 as an Alternative Compliance Path, as it is located in a dense urban area. Our project team is wondering if we might still be able to achieve an additional point for Regional Priority despite that we are using an Alternative Compliance path. Has anyone has experience with Regional Priority and Alternative Compliance Paths? Any help is appreciated.

Kai, I would assume that you would be able to earn the regional point, since you will be earning SSc5, through this ACP.If you want to be absolutely certain I would contact GBCI to pin them down. You might also include a short narrative in your credit documentation about this.

We were able to get in contact with GBCI about this. Yes, you are able to earn the RP point if you use the alternate compliance path for SSc5.1. Below is their response:
"Thank you for contacting GBCI regarding regarding whether or not SSpc83 would be eligible for a Regional Priority (RP) credit for your project.
Yes, since SSpc83 is attempted by using SSc5.1 in the live Scorecard for the project, LEED Online should automatically assign the project the associated Regional Priority credit point if SSc5.1 is achieved/awarded."
