I have a question regarding the Regional Materials Credit: If a product has
the following components:
- Cement (local product)
- Sand (local product)
- Additives (imported)
Will this product comply although the Additves are not regional? Additives
are used in very small quanitites in the overall product and are not
considered to be: extracted, harvested or recovered, however I would like to know how the USGBC will evaluate this.
Thanks!

Roberto - My approach has been to reduce the percentage regional to less than 100% to account for non-local additives. Your supplier will need to give you the weight of the additives compared to the rest of the mix design. I typically see around 1% for the additives.
