Hello All,
Can anyone help me understand how do i calculate the GHG emissions for a project as per ASHRAE 90.1 2010 appendix G.
Also, what does the below statement mean:
"For the Table 2 greenhouse gas emissions metric, new off-site / community renewable energy documented in EA Credit Renewable Energy may be subtracted from the proposed building performance for EA Credit Optimize Energy Performance, but not for EA Prerequisite Minimum Energy Performance" ?
I have completed the energy modelling for a project and going for optimize energy performance credits as per LEED V4 amendment.

Guidance on using GHG emissions can be found here - https://www.usgbc.org/credits/new-construction-core-and-shell-schools-ne...
The sentence means that the project must meet the prerequisite requirements without the contribution of any renewable energy systems. The renewable energy systems can count toward earning points for the credit.

Hi Marcus, I would like to clear another point here. We are getting 18% energy cost savings for a project as per LEED V4 amendment without taking onsite renewable energy savings into account as per PRM.
Can we also account for the onsite renewable energy savings in the final energy cost savings figure?

Hi Marcus, how are we supposed to calculate the GHG emission for LEED V4 (amendment) at precertification level? Do we have any alternate MEPC exclusively at precertification stage?
Since we dont have most of the technical details at this stage.

I have never done the precertification stage. I am not aware of any other MEPC and I assume you calculate GHG the same as in any other stage. You certainly can do a simple box model of the project before you have any technical details at all.

Hi Marcus, what I am doing is taking the average emission factor(considering renewable energy) from Central Power Authority of India which comes to be around 0.727 tCO2/MWh for both proposed & baseline energy consumption.
Does LEED accept the local emission factor or do i need to go with Climate Transparency or Enerdata as sources for emissions factors?
Thanks for the help.
