Hi,
one of our clients is trying to certificate an office building in Portugal (using the rating system LEED BD+C: New Construction and Major Renovation).
Parking capacity will be compliant with requirements of LT Credit Reduced Parking Footprint and the client is available to reserve 5% of preferred carparking places for carpools. These places will be endowed with a specific signage indicating that they are reserved for cars with 3 or more passengers Additionally, the client intents to:
- include the following note (or something equivalent) in a non-technical building user guide: carpools spaces were created to encourage our employees that live in the same area and are subject to the same work schedule to make arrangements in order to share the same car in the commuting travels from home to office and back.
- define and guarantee some verification routines to minimise the misuse of these places by other car other carpools.
Can you please confirm if these strategy meets the carpool requirements ? If not, what else shall recommend our client to do ?
Thanks for your attention.
