I believe the statement to which you're referring is specific only to Schools, Retail, Hospitality, and Healthcare projects. In order to use the requirements in Table 5--where this statement is located in the Reference Guide--your project must be connected to a larger steam system, such as that on a campus, that does not allow the return of steam condensate to the source for reuse. If this is applicable to your project, you could earn 1 point for recovering and reusing the condensate within your space.
