Michelle, only LEED for Existing Buildings requires recertification, and that's required within 5 years, not 1.

My Client would like written confirmation that she will not have to recertify. Do you know where I can find that?

If I were going to look for it, I would look in the LEED Reference Guide or the basic rating system documents on the USGBC website. Or I would email GBCI and ask them the question—I'm sure you'll get the same response, but then it will be in writing from an official source.
