not sure if im understanding the Reference Guide correctly: for the calculation do we use the default values for Rated Power as per Table 2, or should the precise Rated Power of the individual products be entered? In the last para on Page 180 it states: "The default power values used in this credit..." which implies the Table values should be used. Further up the same page it also states "Consult the interpretation rulings for this credit to find the rated power that must be used in the calculation." which for LEED 2009 where public credit interpretations no longer exist, seems a like a misprint.
In the Documentation Guidance, however, it suggests listing generic and ENERGY STAR–qualified equipment together with its associated rated power (watts). This suggests to me that the actual rated power of the products should be considered in the calculation!
Thanks for any help!

Victoria,
The rated Power in Table 2 is provided for your convenience but is not truly a comprehensive list. Using the rated power listed in Table 2, if all of your equipment can be found on it, is usually the easiest way to achieve credit. However, if you believe that your equipment differs significantly from the values found in Table 2, you're welcome to use the rated power on the ENERGY Star rating materials for your appliance.

it there a way to look at this default table you speak of. I am trying to achieve certification with CI v2.0 and am a little confused with which value should use. For clarification sake, if all my equipment and appliances do not have a default value on this table then I should use their actual rated power? Other wise use their default rated power on the table?

Kelvin,
The default table is in the Reference Guide. And yes, if your equipment isn't on the table, you should use the actual rated power.

Kelvin,
Reviewers generally will not question if you use the default values, but if using actual rated power and providing the spec sheets to back them up is more advantageous for your project, then you can do so.
