Hi all. In the LEED form, the R32 refrigerant is not yet on the list. How do I demonstrate the refrigerant impact outside of the form? Can someone share with me how they have overcome this issue please?

I have the same issue, did you ever receive a response to this issue? How have you resolved it? Any input you can offer would be appreciated! R-514A is being used on our project but we can not manipulate the form. The table in the form states "Note: Projects that select "Other" must provide documentation of the ODPr and the GWPr values for the refrigerant." but we can not change the values in the form - do we need to calculate GWP and ODP completely seperate from the LEED Form?

Hello Levi,
There is an 'other' selection in the LEED Form table - noting there are instructions on the Form to provide ODPr and GWPr values when 'other' is selected. You are correct that not all fields are editable when 'other' is selected, so providing an offline calculator is the best option. Also, if there are referigerants currently listed in the Form that have higher ODPr and GWPr than R-514A refrigerants, then you can use that refrigerant to demonstarte worst case scenario. You may provide narrative and supporting documentation to support your claim.
Hope this helps!

Thank you Bipin,
We found that the R-514A refrigerant in question is very low-impact having a ODPr of 0 and GWP of 2, so we were able to pursue Option 1 and justify avoiding the calculator under Option 2. Hopefully this is indicative of future projects as well! Please let me know if this seems inaccurate. I really appreciate your response and hope you ahve a very safe and Happy Holiday Season!

Hello Levi,
You can use Option 1: No refrigerants or low-impact refrigerants. If the project does not use refrigerants or uses only refrigerants that have an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of zero and a global warming potential (GWP) of less than 50, then this option should be fine too. Also, you may want to provide cut sheets/manufacturer's documentation showing OPD and GWP. Happy Holiday Season to you too!
