Hi,
We are working in a project that will have kitchen refrigerators, some of this equipment has refrigerant R-438A.
I believe that this refrigerant complies with the prerequisite, since it is a HFC, but it does not appear as an option in the refrigerant list of LEEDonline, EAPr3,
Do we have to include it as a "special circumstance"?
Thank you

Hi Paula,
You should be able to select "Other (specify)" in the refrigerant table on the form, and then enter the refrigerant name. If this isn't available, you may be using an older version of the form. The easiest option is to request an upgrade to the new version. If you already have all the other information entered, you can also use the special circumstances box. I would also recommend uploading a fact sheet or other documentation confirming that the refrigerant is an HFC, just in case.
Are you planning to pursue the Enhanced Refrigerant Management credit as well? You can still pursue it with a non-standard refrigerant, but will need to track down the Ozone Depletion Potential (ODPr) and Global Warming Potential (GWPr) of the refrigerant and enter it manually into the table on the EAc4 credit form. It's much easier to do this on the new credit forms.
