PV Glazing

We considering PV glazing for a project in SW Louisiana. Anyone have any successful PV glazing projects? Is this ready for primetime?

Hi, Doug. We’ve used PV integrated into the glass for part of the shading system of an atrium skylight. The projects is 7-8 years old now, so there are probably more recent examples out there. It was a very fume hood intensive chemistry building so the EUI is incredibly high, and the energy produced by the PV does not represent a significant portion of the building’s energy usage. But we did use the glazing integrated PV, and it does a nice job of integrating into the skylight and providing shading while producing a little energy. I’m happy to chat more about it if you are interested. Andrea Love AIA, LEED Fellow Principal | Director of Building Science alove@payette.com 617-895-1025 2019 AIA Architecture Firm Award From:

Hi Doug, You might consider speaking with Onyx Solar out of NYCity, https://www.onyxsolar.com/  They are a large fabricator/installer and do a lot of PV glazing. Also, contact Steven Strong of Solar Design Associates, http://www.solardesign.com/about/steven-strong.php  He is the king of solar, does PV engineering and design, and may be able to guide you.
