Hi,
I have two conflicting information as to whether or not off-site renewable eneregy can be purchased from out of State. Could you please clarify is it must be purchased in-state or if it can be purchased out of state?
Thanks.

I don't think state boundries come into play. Utility service territories sometime do. Can you point to the information indicating that out of state renewables are an issue?

Thanks for your response. I was practicing two sets of questions by two different authors; both sets have the same question, but the answers to the question are different. One answer indicates you can purchase out of state, while the other answer indicates you cannot purchase out of state. I wasn't sure which of them is correct.

I am pretty sure the answer for off-site renewables is that you cannot purchase out of state. Utility service territories are regulated at the state level and you can't get off-site renewables outside your utility service territory. The answer is different for RECs. Those can be purchased out of state.
