Hello,
The project I am working on is located in Europe. The same stone is used for the roof and for the pavement.
We need to undergo some testings because there is no stone/paver under (http://coolroofs.org), and I understand that if used as a roofing material, one non-roofing material has to be tested.
1) Does anyone know if there are some equivalent european standards for the followings :
E903-12 Standard Test Method for Solar Absorptance, Reflectance, and Transmittance of Materials Using Integrating Spheres
E 1980 Standard Practice for Calculating Solar Reflectance Index of Horizontal and Low-Sloped Opaque Surfaces
2) Does LEED accepts any standard as long as the SR is measured on all wavelengths then averaged and the SRI is calculated with the SR and the thermal emittance ?
Thanks a lot

Marilou - The following are published international tips for LEEDv4 BD+C Heat Island Reduction "Projects outside the U.S. can contact manufacturers directly and ask for SRI information. If manufacturers do not provide this information, the project team can identify a similar material from the Cool Roof Rating Council standard for comparison to show that the project’s material meets the intent of the credit."

Thanks Summer,
There are no paver under the Cool Roof Rating Council standard. . So no comparison possible.

Marilou, if you're able to get the item tested independently, page 6 of the Cool Roof Rating Council Standard (CRRC-1) (PDF download) outlines the test methodology and number of tests required for different nonroof materials (info from LEEDuser's summary for this credit).
I personally tried looking on USGBC's credit page, under Resources for this item, and found that they only provide a web link to the CRRC page. From there, I wasn't able to locate the PDF mentioned above on that website. I googled it a few different ways, and finally found something that I believe is the referenced document. Try this link, and see if it helps clarify the testing criteria. If you still have questions, it may be best to send an email directly to LEEDCoach asking for clarification for your international area, specifically.

Thanks a lot Emily.
I see that CRRC-1 still refers to ASTM standards. .
I'll try and reach to a LEED COACH.

Hi Marilou,
I am facing the same issue in Poland. Can you please advise how did you cope with paving SR values? Can we use the SR values as per the LEED 10411 Interpretation still, as it was in v2009? Can the Manufacturer just provide a statement that the paving is for example 0.35 SR?
