I have a question, for hotel buildings the baseline HVAC system type to be used should be PTAC/PTHP according to ASHRAE 90.1 (ductless).
This proposed building will be composed by a chilled water system with air handling units and fan coils, all of them fully ducted return.
Is it possible to use the fan power limitation pressure drop adjustment indicated in ASHRAE 90.1 for increasing the baseline fan power?
The question is because in G3.1.2.9 it seems that it is only allowed for systems 3 through 8.
Thanks.

G3.1.2.9 prohibits the pressure drop adjustment for systems 1 and 2. Which just makes sense since there is no ductwork.

Actually it is an issue for LEED residential or hotel projects, because you are going to be penalized if you use ductwork and filters in the proposed building.
Has anybody had experiencies by modeling hotels?
