I'm working on a project located within an existing indoor shopping mall. The retail space does not abut to the exterior envelope. We are providing a new storefront facade; the remaining space is bound by existing demising partitions.
Are we exempt from persuing the 6 potential points for Base Buildings, or can we document ASHRAE compliance of the existing demising partitions and proposed storefront? Or do we need to research what the exterior envelope construction is, regardless that the project is inboard of it?

If the project has no exterior envelop then it would not be eligible for the first four points related to base building envelop. The last two points are for HVAC system efficiency.
