Are there any firms performing energy models with future predictive climate data rather past published climate data?
If so, I wonder if the ghost of energy modeling future is scarier than the ghost of energy modeling past.

Short answer: yes!
Longer answer: wenn optimizing buildings regarding energy use and comfort, assessing options of night ventilation or passive cooling, it is paramount to take into account future climates. We compared a current typical climate file (measurement period about 1970-2000) with current measurements and it makes a big difference (surprise..). Therefore, we advise our clients to make the simulations with future weather data.
These are provided from official sources in Germany (DWD) and Switzerland (SIA 2028). Some certification labels give bonus points, when taking into account future climates, some regions in Switzerland even require it for building permits.
Am curious how it is in other countries?
