Pre-Certification Experience

Could anyone please comment on this process in general? Neither the USGBC or the GBCI goes into it in much detail. I have downloaded and reviewed the credit forms. My main confusion with with the "Tenant Lease" agreements - in regular C&S, you must provide the signed, recorded agreement. For pre-certification, do you simply say you will make your future tenant put it in the lease? What prevents you from pre-certifying an empty shell as Platinum, by placing all requirements on the tenant?

Curt, I was a bit mystified by this as well. It appears that during the registration for a LEED CS project, you can opt for one of four paths: precertification and split review, precertification and combined review; split review; and combined review. As far as the level of detail for the precertification process, I am not entirely sure. I would recommend doing what you already did: looking at the PRECERTIFICATION templates on either the USGBC site or in LEED Online (upper right-hand corner when you log in). Hope that helps.
