PowerNest Wind & Solar System

Has anyone worked on a project installing a PowerNest system?  I just found out about it today and would love to get working information on it.

Here's the link, in case its new to you as well. https://www.ibispower.eu/home

Thank you -

I've not seen that specific product before and I hope it's a resounding success. That said, anecdotally we did throughly review building integrated wind on a project a few years ago and determined it not to be a great value (cost vs output) and invested the money into more solar PV on the project which, in that case, provided more clean energy over the year. Rooftop wind not only has many more moving parts of course, but also required signigican vibration damping and acoustic concerns for top floor perimeter offices. I love wind power but as I understand its the square of the blade diameter and cube of the wind speed, exponential by definition. go big or go home. :) I'd love to be wrong. maybe everything has changed in the last few years?

I don't think you're wrong, Conor. It's been 15 years since we published The Folly of Building-Integrated Wind, but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) the laws of physics haven't changed much since then. Vertical-axis turbines are great for being able to cut in at low wind speeds, but the total amount of power they generate is minimal. It's amazing that this hype machine doesn't quit, even after being discredited by serious engineers and multiple field studies (including on the roof of the Boston Museum of Science).
