Porte Cochere - parking and hardscape

The Porte Coachere (the dropoff entry) of a hotel is usually covered. I am struggling with two questions on a hotel project: 1. Is the Porte Cochere a parking space? Cars do stop there temporarily, but no-one parks permanently. 2. Is the paved area under the porte-cochere considered a hardscape?

Lawrence, I would not consider the Porte caochere a parking spot. The paved area under the porte coachere would typically be considered as part of the hardscape. Hope that helps.
