Hi, I was wondering what pilot credits were eligible to pursue for the Campus approach. I looked through the pilot credit library on USGBC's website but it not specifically mention anything about Campus.
Also, in the BD+C reference guide under the Innovation credit section, it notes for Campus that "Documentation for campus-wide strategies must represent the total combined performance for all master site buildings and site areas, but strategies that apply to individual buildings must be documented for every building."
Could anyone clarify what this means? Thank you so much in advance!

Hi Chloe, check out this guidance regarding Campus credits.
That's a great first question! I would think that all would be applicable unless they state otherwise - but I am going to follow up on this because I haven't seen any documentation describing that situation.
As for your second question: this wording is likely allowing for innovation strategies to be addressed differently across a campus. Due to the narrative nature of documenting innovation credits, it sounds like they expect you to specify how each project on a campus addresses that innovation credit, if applicable. If all the projects address the innovation credit in the same way, then a campus wide documentation will suffice.
I hope that helps... and I will get back soon if I figure out an answer to your first question!

I have used the O&M Kick Start credit for a campus. The credit lists 5 EBOM Policies that may be selected. Choose any 2 policies for one IN point; choose an additional 2 policies for another IN point. You must indicate that the policies will be applied to all buildings on the campus. Though the IN website provides templates that can be customized for your project and location, as applicable, I have had a reviewer say that these don't follow EBOM. So I pulled out the EBOM credit and compared and made sure the IN policy for my campus included EBOM language (seems like there was maybe one or two references that had changed). It was approved on resubmittal. For another project I used the templates as they stand in the IN credit and they were accepted on that project. Green Cleaning and IPM Policies seem to complement each other well. On one project I also used Site Management and Facility Maintenance and Renovation for the second point. Hope this helps.

Samantha, the Campus Guide is available here: https://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-campus-guidance
It says v2009 at the top, but does include v4 applicability as mentioned in the description. It's not great; USGBC doesn't provide much guidance for Group/Campus projects, which is always frustrating.
The v4 Reference Guide additionally has a small blurb under each credit noting if it's applicable to Group/Campus. It's under the 'Further Explanation' section.

For v4, it is important to differentiate between Pilot and Innovation credits.
For the latter, we have used EBOM credits such as Green Cleaning Policy, Sustainable Purchasing, Integrated Pest Management. Under LEED 2009, those were individual credits; for v4, they are part of the O+M Starter Kit (so one Credit).
Education is another commonly used Innovation Credit.
Resilience is a newer Pilot that we were successful in. That was a great deal more challenging to document.
All the above are applicable to LEED Campus projects.
Good luck!
