Documentation of this credit was easy because we are using a hauler who has a CORR certified facility that is near to our job. We tried this pilot credit once before and did not achieve it because the drivers took the waste to the facility nearest the project, which was not their CORR certified facility. I think the verified recycling rate is very important, so I am hoping to see more facilities become certified. I feel that a focus on the waste streams is pertinent to shifting the marketplace and driving momentum on hard to recycle material streams, at the same time a huge focus needs to stay on the commingled materials handlers, as they handle the bulk of materials. Maybe inclusion of certified facilities is a great way to go to give more legitimacy to commingled waste hauling while still focusing on driving progress with individual materials streams.

I agree that we need more facilities becoming 3rd party verified. We are not seeing processors in the DC market jump onboard. This credit is achievable when you have a verified processor in your area. Commingled waste is typically the only feasible option in most cities even with live load options. I agree the that sourcing end use for material streams is the most challenging part for processors in today’s market especially when trying to meet the v4 requirements.

Did you have an issue convincing the hauler to haul waste only from your project site so that the weight measurement reflected only the weight from the project? Did they charge extra for doing this?

Is there any other equivalent certification (besides CORR) that can be verified to meet the compliance for -third-party verified facility recycling rate for this credit?
