Schools-2009 SSp2:Environmental Site Assessment

Phase I for an Existing School

Do we need a formal Phase I assessment for a school remodeling project (major renovation)? The school site was a greenfield site when it was originally constructed approximately 50 years ago. Thanks for any help, insights or advice.

John, LEED 2009 for Schools New Construction and Major Renovations mandates compliance with the prerequisite SSp2: Environmental Site Assessment and would therefore require conducting a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment.
