EBOM-2009 SSc3:Integrated Pest Management, Erosion Control, and Landscape Management

Pesticides are not stored or mixed on the building

We have a contractor that will chemically prepare and store our pesticides in his offices. Do we have to follow the LEED guidelines for storage and preparation even though the pesticides will not be stored or prepared in the building we are trying to certify. Thanks

Hi Ruba, This credit isn't directly concerned about where and how chemicals are prepared and stored, particularly if these activities happen off-site (although proper health and safety procedures should of course be followed when pesticides are concerned). Instead the credit requires that integrated methods are used before any pesticide is applied, and looks at the type of product used when an application is required.
