Permanently Installed Furniture?

Option 1 requires that products be permanently installed. Do furniture products installed in a LEED CI project qualify for inclusion in the EPD list?

Michael, I've also been trying to find an answer to this question. The following was communicated to me in an email direct from USGBC. "Furniture is not considered permanently installed and is not required to be included in the credit. However, furniture as well as other optional mechanical, plumbing, electrical (MEP) products may be included, provided they are also included in the other two cost-based credits (Sourcing of Raw Materials and Materials Ingredients)".

Furniture definitely needs to be included on CI projects. It is not clearly communicated in the reference guide. As you note, there is a sentence that says option 1 requires that products be permanently installed, yet later on in the description it says "For all options Meet the requirements of the credit above and include furniture and furnishings within the project's scope of work."
