Permanent entry way to retail space in a mid-rise multi-family

This is an eight-story apartment building that is pursuing LEED-NC 2009 and contains future retail spaces in the ground floor. In order to achieve this credit are the future retail tenants required to commit to an entryway system in each retail space?

Yes. It can be a roll out mat with a weekly cleaning contract. See options in the credit requirements.

Michelle, thank you for your prompt response, I should have mentioned that the project team will not provide any design for the retail space and will leave it as a C&S. Please confirm even in a case like this we have to implement one of the required options of this credit for the retail spaces as well.

If you are applying for NC certification, you must have tenant guidelines that protect your LEED NC certification level. If you pursue this credit, it applies to the entire building regardless of when the construction is completed. The easiest option would be for you to install the entry system as part of the C&S project. This applies to any NC credit that you pursue.
