Pergola covering the mechanical equipment

The mechanical equipment located on the roof of my project is covered by a metal pergola/blinds only for the esthetics. The pergola is permeable in more than 50% and it allows for penetration of wind, water and sunlight. Do we have to count it towards the roof area, or we can deduct it (in fact, that's the part of the roof covered by mechanical equipment)? Thanks in advance.

Alicja, this basically sounds to me like it should count as an appurtenance, as it's just a cover for the mechanical equipment.
