Passive House Detailing

Does anyone have a Passive House detailing resource recommendation? Something that is applicable to wood over podium and/or metal framing construction? I have the book below but looking for something more applicable.

Hi Kate, For resources, my go to web resources are two firms here in the Northwest (Vancouver BC and Seattle) with RDH Building Science and Morrison Hershfield. Both have available a great library of technical resources, white papers, presentations on high-peformance and passive buildings. Finding the specific answer to a wood framing on a podium condition or metal framing may take a little time in searching but good chance there might be a past paper or presentation that has covered the topic of interest.

You might be able to find info on metal framing (and thermal bridging), but less likely on podium details. A new Passive House discussion Q+A resource came on line in mid-March. Here you can ask specific questions and, similar to SDL/Green Gurus, look to crowd source an answer. You can sign up at: https://community.passivehouseaccelerator.com/ Books on details, and even the web resources noted above, are nice for some generic or typical cases but seem to hardly ever apply to what always feels to be unique project conditions. At that point usually have to dive into a review session with contractor (if on board), envelope/enclosure consultant, and sometimes energy modeler if they can do THERM or WUFI model, to work out detail options together.

Thanks,
Mike
