Where do I draw the radius from?

Is one building or residential area enough to satisfy the residential density requirement?

My project has access to services that seem to be basic, but are not listed in the LEED Reference Guide—like insurance company, nail salon, auto repair shop. Will these count?

CI-2009 SSc2:Development Density and Community Connectivity

Parking garages

For Option 1 / Development Density - we have several large parking garages within our radius. Am I correct in thinking these would not be counted? I've always assumed this, but cannot find it specifically referenced, either in the official USGBC info or on this forum or others. Thanks

Hi Eric, I do not have experience with Option 1 of this credit, but a thread in the LEED NC – 2009 forum dated March 02, 2013 seems to suggest that parking garages are not to be included in order to calculate the total building area.
