We are currently working on a project in which, during the outdoor airflow measurements, we identified that the ventilation fans were delivering significantly lower outdoor airflow rates than required. The highest measured airflow rate was only 20 L/s. In addition, some spaces were not receiving any outdoor air.
As a corrective action, we requested a new HVAC design. The revised design now serves all spaces and meets the minimum outdoor airflow rates required by ASHRAE Standard 62.1–2016.
We would like to understand whether it would be possible to submit the project based on the revised design before the new system is installed, provided that, after installation, new outdoor airflow measurements are performed to verify that the minimum required airflow rates are being met.
Would this approach be acceptable for demonstrating compliance with the applicable LEED requirements?
