NC-v4 LTc7:Reduced parking footprint

Ordinance says no new minimum parking needed for Parks

We are currently working on a 4000 sq ft park shelter project located in an existing park in Madison, Wisconsin. The local ordinance states that parks and playgrounds do not have a minimum parking requirement. There is an existing parking lot associated with the site. we are not adding or reducing any parking. Would we still meet the the reduced parking credit requirement if we do not add any reserve car pool spots in the parking lot as we are not doing any work in that area?

Thank you in advance

Was there ever an answer posted about this?  Our project is major remodel of an existing building.  No local minimum parking requirement.  Our project is not touching the existing parking, that is, no additional spaces to existing parking lot.  What do we have to show to meet this credit?

when demonstrating the percent reduction below base ratios, the parking calcs must include all existing and new parking spots that serve the building/space pursuing LEED cert.

LEED Base Ratios must still be met if new or existing parking is dedicated to your project (hard to say where a park shelter lands on that list). Choose "The local zoning requirements do not specify a minimum parking capacity" on the LEED form. PS - if you pursue LEED v4.1, it does not require the reserved car pool spots and reduction changes to 30%.

Thumbs up to Danielle for pointing out the less stringent v4.1 credit substitution path!

@Kath - Any follow up to your question above? I am in a similar boat looking at a major rennovatin project that has a small number of existing spots but zoning has no minimum and I am trying to figure out if we are able to meet this credit or not
