EBOM-v4 LTc1: Alternative transportation
Has anyone had experience with Option 3? It appears we will not get any points in Option 2 - it's a fairly isolated building where everyone drives on their own.

Do motorcycles qualify as an alternative means of transportation? What about scooters?
Does the survey need to adhere to SCAQMD Rule 2202 procedures, like in LEED 2009?
What if we already participate in a local transportation survey? Can we use those results?
Do we have to collect home zip code data in our survey?
My building has fewer than 100 occupants. What should my sample size be?

I don't have direct experience with this new option in v4. Have you thought about polling occupants to assess which of the strategies are the most appealing? That might be a good place to start.

Option-3 requires you to implement multiple strategies, one in each category listed in the credit requirements. You also need to make sure that all the three strategies (educational, basic support, and direct) are fully implemented before the performance period ends. While you can easily overlap the education and basic support category options with regular events and policies of your building, planning for direct strategies takes more effort and you might want to involve occupants to see what would work best for most. Since you will already be doing the survey to qualify for option 3, you can use the feedback from the survey to find out what the preferred direct strategy could be. In any case, be sure to have documentation that can demonstrate occupant involvement and the marketing method used.
