Has anyone achieved this credit for a government entity such as a municipality, where the government entity has provided a financial budget to restore greenway space, waterways, etc. via the Parks Department? The municipality is willing to write a letter allocating the funding to the project, and not any other LEED project. Financial support (the budget of millions of dollars) is significantly more than the requirement of at least $0.40 per square foot for the total site area (including the building footprint), which would be approximately $36K.
The municipality's park department is locally recognized for their conservation efforts, and the City's parks are never going away. It seems like it more than meets the requirements of, "Financial support must be provided to a nationally or locally recognized land trust or conservation organization within the same EPA Level III ecoregion or the project’s state.
