Option 2 states:
"Meet the requirements for Option 1.
AND
Path1 OR Path2"
Now I have a doubt. If I go for either of Path 1 or Path 2, I am using zero potable water for irrigation(Except for Path 2 which allows temporary irrigation for 1 year). So in both the paths, option1 is surpassed implicitly because option 1 says "to reduce POTABLE water consumption for irrigation by 50%", so is it required in Option 2 to say "Meet the requirements of Option1" ?
OR does "Meet the requirements of Option 1" refers to temporary irrigation in Path2 which means that I have to reduce potable water usage in the temporary system also?
HELP.

Divjot, Option 1 is a 50% reduction. So with Option 2, you are attaining the 50% reduction, and surpassing it with a 100% reduction in potable water use, either through no permanent irrigation at all, or through use of rainwater, etc.

Tristan, that exactly is my doubt. Suppose I get 100% marks in an examination, I would simply say" I got 100%", I would not say "I got 100%.I also attained more than 50%"
The achievement of 100% reduction should imply that I have attained more than 50% reduction so the statement in OPTION 2 "Meet the requirements for option 1" seems redundant unless it applies to temporary irrigation system also.
So, can temporary irrigation systems(allowed for 18 months, as per addenda) use potable water for 18 months before being removed? OR
Do I have to follow 50% reduction even in temporary irrigation system as well?
My doubt is largely about potable water usage in Temporary irrigation system.
Thanks

I agree, the way this credit is written could be simpler. To answer your question, LEED does not dictate anything about the water use of the temporary irrigation system. It is not considered in the credit calculations.
