Hi LEED User Team,
Do you know if open grid pavement (just counting the green area, that is native grass) counts for SSc5.1?
Thank you,

I have the same question. Years ago, I thought I saw confirmation somewhere on here that GrassPave (or similar) can count towards vegetated open space (for 5.1 and 5.2) if the grass is native/adapted. I can't find it now, but it seems kind of obvious to me. Can someone confirm this?

I would say that open grid pavement is not meeting the intent of the credit, which is "To conserve existing natural areas and restore damaged areas to provide habitat and promote biodiversity". This credit is primarily intended to restore natural areas for the sake of natural environmental process to take place. Utilizing the area for parking or other human activities disrupts that process.
