Our project used Shaw 4151 LVT Universal Adhesive. Shaw Contract literature makes claim to a Greenguard Certificate that is for the same 4151 universal adhesive, however, the certificate referenced by Shaw reflects a different company (S3 Flooring Solutions). Has anyone experienced this before and successfuly documented the product for LEED? Does anyone know if Shaw and S3 are sister or parent companies? Thank you in advance.

Hi Tiffany, I have encountered similar situations in my LBC documentation. I've found that most flooring companies I checked use adhesive from a different company than themselves, and that adhesive company allows them to market the adhesive under their flooring company name. I'm sure it's the same adhesive. I'd suggest a letter from S3 or from Shaw stating that is the case, or simply use the Greenguard certificate from S3 and call out the adhesive by the S3 name.
