CI-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

Occupancy Sensor and/or Decorative lighting credit

Could occupancy sensor credit under G.3.2 be used towards meeting the 10% lighting savings requirement? Could credit for decorative lighting be implemented as well 9.6.2a?

Yes G3.2 credit would count. I do not think you can get credit for the decorative lighting exception. You are only allowed to claim the credit up to the quantity installed in the proposed case and it is modeled identically.

could you please elaborate on the decorative lighting? why wouldnt it count?

The credit is an extra allowance for code compliance. It is a "use it or lose it" allowance and is basically considered a process load and therefore must be modeled identically.

Well the template allows adding the decorative lighting but separately.

The credit says that the lighting should be able to comply with Ashrae 90.1 but is does not say that it should comply with Appendix G or G3.2 in particular. How can I back this up for the reviewer?

Upon further review it appears as if I was wrong about the occupancy sensor credit. Since EAc1.2 addresses controls it appears that EAp2 and EAc1.1 are only based on a reduction in LPD without any control credit. Sorry about that.
