Many of you will be passing through NYC on your way to the SDL Summit in Garrsion this week. I encourage you to make a pit stop at the United Nations. You’ve heard me talk about the next generation, tech transfer building systems developed at the Center for Architecture Science and Ecology (CASE), co-founded by SOM and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. CASE has evolved into its next iteration at Yale. Although still in the infancy of its first year as the Center for Ecosystems in Architecture (CEA), a micro home prototype was conceived, fabricated and installed on the UN Plaza. If you stop by, you will be able to see all of the integrated systems working and live metered: Active Modular Phytoremediation System, HeliOptix (dual tracking solar concentrating and diffuse lighting system), and many more. Tell the team I sent you and I’m sure the PhDs and faculty will be happy to give you a behind the scenes tour!
