Healthcare-v4 EQc9:Acoustic Performance

Noise Exposure Category

Hello,

When pursuing IEQ/Acoustic Performance/Opt2 credit? We're trying to determine what exterior noise classification we are per FGI table A1.2a, but we're wondering if all the criteria in the specified Noise Exposure Category have to be satisfied (i.e., if we have Ldn <65 dB, but are within 1000 ft of a flight path, does that automatically put us in Category D)?

Christina, I should preface by saying I do not have a copy of the 2010 FGI guidelines. However, the table in the 2018 guidelines have a footnote for the distanaces that states it is more accurate to use actual sound levels at the project site if those are known. The distances are a reference for projects that may not know project specific sound levels. Therefore, my interpretation is that if you have actual sound levels measured at your project site those would be the controlling factor for what category your project is in.
