CS-v4 SSp1:Construction activity pollution prevention

Noise from construction activities on site

Hi to all,

I was wondering if you have heard of any requirement regarding noise from construction activities on site for LEED compliance?

Is it required to submit any documentation regarding noise during construction? What if it is required as per local regulations, is then required to be documented for LEED compliance?

Thanks

Hi Julio, Noise mitigation is not required as part of the SS prerequisite. If local law requires that you manage it, it may show up on the same inspection reports as you would use for LEED - but the LEED reviewer will not look at it.  There is a pilot credit for exterior noise management (though it focuses on operations, not construction). If you are taking noise management measures, see if you qualify for it as an  Innovation point: https://www.usgbc.org/credits/new-construction-core-and-shell-schools-new-construction-retail-new-construction-20?return=/credits/New%20Construction/v4.1
