Yes, although it's not as obvious as in the 2009 version where Option 3 in the credit form was "no new parking." In the version 4 step-by-step guidance in the LEED Credit Library it says "Projects with no associated off-street parking automatically achieve credit compliance; no calculations or preferred parking spaces are required." I think "achieve credit compliance" means 1 point since that's what the base credit is worth.

How do you define "no associated" off-street parking? I have a school residence project with no parking within the LEED boundary. Would it qualify to achieve the credit if there is campus parking? Both residence students and non-residence students must apply for parking passes. Since there is only limited amount of parking, residence and non-residence parking passes are not guaranteed.

Hi Irene, If the parking spaces on campus are available for students to apply and get, I think this would mean they are associated with the project, so the credit may not be able to be achieved automatically. However, I think an argument could be made that none of the parking spaces for the campus are specifically reserved for the new residents of the building, and that the campus/project has not provided any new parking along with the residence hall. If you are increasing density on the campus and not adding new parking, that seems to fully meet the intent of the credit, in my eyes! I would recommend pursuing the no new parking option and explaining how the existing parking spaces are not reserved or guaranteed to the new residents. I hope this helps!
