We have a high-rise building for which we are pursing LEED EBOM v4.1. Since that building only has an LED vertical columns lighting on the facade. Other than this no exterior fixtures are used? To claim this credit point, do we need to consider that facade lighting ? if yes, in this case its LED what should we provide them with? if this can be exempted, then can we claim the point on the basis of no exterior lighting within the LEED boundary?

1. Facade lighting does count as exterior lighting. Yes, include it.
2. The exception is based on how bright the light source is. LED light sources are not technically lamps and are typically measured as a whole fixture. Which helps a bit since luminaire lumens are always less than lamp lumens.
You'll need the IES file from the manufacturer. The IES file or cutsheet will give you the Total Luminaire Lumens. If it is less than 2,500 lumens from the credit language then it is exempt. Provide this IES file or cutsheet as your documentation it is exempt.
3. If this is exempted you can claim the credit. The form gets a little weird when there are zero lights. You may need to input 0 or 1 lumen.

Thank you for your reply, Bill. As mentioned earlier, it's a vertical column LED lighting grid system, and the data sheet only provides information about the typical brightness, which is 126 lumens per module (consisting of 6 LEDs/module). There are 21 identical modules, so can we use this total of 2,646 lumens as a substitute for the mean lumen value? Can you please confirm if this is accurate and, if it is, what steps we should take next? TIA.

It's a judgement call on wether to count the module or total lumens. I side towards total fixture lumens of 2,646 since it functions as a single fixture.
Just fill out the credit form and attach the data sheet you have.
