Natural ventilated stairs and lift shaft

Can natural ventilated stairs and lift shaft excluded from requirements of this credit? If not, how can these spaces comply with this credit? Is required CO2 sensor installed on each Landing? Thank you LEEDme staff

These spaces are not regularly occupied spaces, so they do not require additional monitoring.

Thank you Andrew. We thought as you say, but the IEQ Space Matrix requires IEQ credit 1 compliance for stairways and corridors and for IEQ credit general requirements specifies "naturally ventilated spaces: all occupied spaces". Our office building has two naturally ventilated stairways. Hence our doubts.

Understood. I have had success in explaining that stairs are required emergency exits and that the primary means of vertical travel is an elevator.
