We are working on a university campus. Our projects include TWO groups, of 3-4 physically unconnected, but almost identical buildings in terms of layout and function that are relatively side by side. We want to register these as 2 projects, not 7 or 8 individual projects. Can we do this, call each 3-4 building 'set' one project?
Please let me know! Thank you!

LEED Interpretation 10203 from 7/1/2012 includes guidance on submitting K-12 schools, hospitals, hotels, resorts and resort properties as a “single building” based on the size of the buildings. It’s still unclear if this applies to university buildings however – you may want to submit a new LEED Interpretation for clarification.
Also, the AGMBC (https://www.usgbc.org/ShowFile.aspx?DocumentID=10486) page 10 includes guidance on how to submit for a group project certification. Unfortunately LEED Online doesn’t currently have the functionality to register group projects just yet and you still have to register each building separately for LEED 2009. However, you can register as a master site with individual buildings (discounted fees for certification, this usually makes $ sense with 5+ buildings).

Ok, so if we aren't doing a mastersite registration, but just create a block, then we still need to register each project separately, is what I am hearing. Meaning no real 'group' option/functionality still online to achieve a "group" certification of the group of buildings... we'll still receive the 7 independent building certifications. Is that correct understanding?
I read somewhere that someone on here got an exemption so I need to dig further into that also.

I recommend reaching out to GBCI to see when the group registrations will be up and running in LEED Online v3 - if it's soon, it might make sense to postpone registration a little bit.

Has there been any update to the Group Registration process? we have registered one building on a manufacturing campus, and are considering certifying a second building. is there any cost benefit to doing them together?
thank you

There are definitely cost benefits to submitting for a group - the documentation involved, running one vs multiple energy models, Review fees...
Apart from having first to register the project as a block, I have not found any updates on how one could register a Group of buildings.
I have also written to the GBCI for more information - so far, nada.
Does anyone have any insights/advice?
