Modelling outdoor air flow rate in baseline energy model - ASHRAE 62.1 and Local Code

Hi all,

In the open plan office areas we followed the local code (CIBSE – guidance documents) which exceeds ASHRAE 62.1 (+30%) significantly, and in all other areas we followed ASHRAE 62.1 (+30%), as is allowed by the local code.

So our baseline model is set up as follows: Open plan office spaces in the baseline are modelled with local code (CIBSE) minimum outdoor air rates. And all other areas in the baseline are modelled with ASHRAE 62.1 minimum outdoor air rates (not including the 30% extra).

In our baseline energy model, is it permitted to use a combination of the minimum outdoor air required by ASHRAE 62.1 and our local code as explained above?

Many thanks,

Ciaran

I would think so. I assume that you would be submitting the ventilation prerequisite calculations the same way and they both should be consistent.
