Hi,

while reading the ID+C guideline (EAp2, p.140) I see that:"Some efficiency measures that no longer need to be modeled using an exceptional calculation method include low-flow water fixtures, kitchen equipment, and kitchen ventilation.

Low-flow service water-heating fixtures. The flow rates given in WE Prerequisite Indoor Water Use Reduction set the allowable baseline values. Provide sufficient information to justify energy savings from efficient fixtures and appliances that use hot water.

- Kitchen equipment. All project types may count energy savings from efficient refrigeration equipment, cooking and food preparation, clothes washing, and other major support appliances. LEED Appendix 3, Retail Tables 1–4, defines the baseline conditions."

I understand that I can use the nominal values in the appliance datasheet for the proposed building, independently if it is Energy Star or not, and the values in Retail Tables 1–4 for the baseline building, in order to get an additional energy saving in the simulation result, this is valid also for CI and Hospitality projects.

I ask so because,at p. 172 EAc2, this option is mentioned for Retail only projects, while no reference to CI and Hospitality is present.

Secondly, do "Low-flow service water-heating fixtures" include also kitchen appliances or only toilets, showers, taps? Is it possible to quantify a cold/hot water saving and consequently an energy saving from appliances such dishwashers, clotheswashers and so on?

Thank you,

Paolo
