NC-2009 EAp2: Minimum Energy Performance
Hi,
I am Certifiying an office attached to a wharehouse. The office counts with minisplit units, but I am not able to find a minisplit brand that will comply with minimum COPs shown in Standard 90.1-2007 Table 6.8.1B.
I am afraid that the Owner is not willing to pay for a more sophisticated air conditioning system.
Is there any LEED Interpretation that I could use?,

A portion of our building envelope is historic. Can we exclude it from our model?

Which baseline HVAC system do I use if my building has no heating or air conditioning?
Our project has a diesel backup generator. Should we include it in our energy model?
Can SHGC be higher in the proposed than in the baseline model?

Most, if not all, mini-splits should have greater efficiency that those listed in Table 6.8.1B. So I am confused about your statement that you can't find any that comply.

Hi Marcus,
May be in the US, but in some countries we are suffering two pandemics, the Covid-19 and Economy, and unfortunatly, the latest is beoming worst.
Anyway, we will manage to find some brand to at least, compy with ASHRAE 90.1-2007.
