Hospitality-NC-v4 WEc2:Indoor water use reduction

Minimum Number of Kitchen Equipment

Dear All,

we’re currently working on a project of an Hospitality Facility in Europe that is pursuing LEED v4 certification. Regarding WEc2 Indoor Water Use Reduction credit, since it is an hospitality project, 1 point related with Appliances and Process Water can be awarded.

It expected that more than 100 meals will be served daily on-site. Due to this, in order to earn that point we are planning to comply with kitchen appliance standards. Our question is: are there any requirements related with minimum number of appliances that need to be installed so that the project is eligible for that credit?

Please note that for commercial washing machines, Reference Guide includes requirements related with the minimum capacity of installed equipments.

Best regards,

Hello Ricardo,  There is no minimum number of appliances that are required to be installed. If the project includes appliances listed in Table 2. Compliant commercial washing machines or Table 3. Standards for commercial kitchen equipment - all the appliances should meet requirements listed in the table to meet additional points within WEc Indoor Water Use Reduction. The LEED v4 BD+C Reference Guide says - "All process and appliance
equipment listed in the category of kitchen equipment and present on the project must comply with the standards." So, only applicable appliances used in the project should meet the above table requirements.  Thanks!
