Are there any exceptions to the daylight control requirement of ASHRAE 90.1–2010?

Our proposed design has insulation R-values that are below those prescribed by ASHRAE 90.1-2010. Can we still meet the prerequisite?

Minimum Energy Performance and moduline units

The facility in which we are designing a 20,000+ square foot office space project is served by the old Carrier moduline units.  Is it possible to get EQ prerequisite Minimmum Energy Performance using this type of system?  Will energy modeling be required?

You have two options. Under Option 1 you do the model and see if you comply. You do have to model the baseline HVAC according to Appendix G. Under Option 2 you do not have to comply with the prescriptive standards if a system is not part of your scope of work.
