I am working on a mixed use, residential/commercial property. We have five buslines that run to/from our site with a stop within 1/4 mile walking distance. We never had a problem receiving this credit on previous projects (pre-NC2009). On our latest project, we did not receive credit for this since out of the five buslines, only one runs on a daily basis. The others run sporadically (e.g., Mondays only, Wed only, 2nd & 4th Wed of the month, etc). The reviewer felt we were not meeting the intent of the credit, which is to reduce single occupancy vehicle use. Can someone suggest a way that we might be able to meet this intent? The stakes are much higher in 2009 (7 credits) as opposed to 2.2 (1 credit). Thanks.

It sounds like you're going for Option 2, requiring two bus lines, and you have five buslines but only one is daily.I'm wondering if you can line up the schedule grids for the five buslines and show that on any given day/time (or at least for the vast majority of times), there are at least two bus lines operating in the area. Might this approach work?
