Hi everyone, I have a few questions about measuring mechanical ventilation in the existing building. This project consists of five floors, each floor has an office and retail space, and it has an ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilation) system where the supply air is less than 250 CMH (70 L/s) per space.
1. Page 55 of the LEED V4.1 O+M reference guide states that ventilation system equipment and related components are maintained based on Table 8.2 of ASHRAE 62.1-2016.
2. For mechanically ventilated spaces, the guide says that measures the total amount of outdoor air delivered and confirms that the results are within 10% of the current facility requirements and the percentage specified in the Operations and Maintenance Plan.
3. However, according to the Table 8.2 exception of ASHRAE 62.1-2016, units with supply air less than 1000 L/s are excluded from this requirement.
Some questions are as follows:
1. Despite the Table 8.2 exception of ASHRAE 62.1-2016, should the team verify the measurement requirements?
2. If the supply OA is 200L/s, the minimum required OA is 100L/s, and the measured OA is 150L/s (about 10% or more tolerance), can this project meet this prerequisite since the measured OA is bigger than minimum required OA?
